This starlight archtop is a 14” hollow body electric that offers a big sound in a small package. The hollow body cavity gives a decent amount of acoustic sound for practicing or working out your arrangements without having to plug in. I used all Macassar Ebony appointments which ties in nicely with the gold hardware and the traditional autumn brown sunburst. Don’t let this pretty face fool you, underneath this beautiful exterior is the heart and soul of a warrior. I used LIndy Fralin Pure PAF pickups on this one which Lindy custom wound specifically for this guitar, they have a fatter and warmer tone than the original pickups, clean and Articulate with excellent note separation. The Body is Honduras mahogany which helps add warmth to the sound as well and the back is a highly figured piece of quilted maple. With a tricky and dare I say clever wiring hack I have added a push/push switch on the tone control that turns the humbuckers into fat single coils. With the switch in the split position the pickups have a that classic p90 tone and in the middle position and the pickups split you get a sound like a strat in position 4 or as I like to call it that “classic Strat quack”, so needless to say this guitar pretty much lets you dial in whatever tone you need for whatever music you need to play. AS with all my Starlight Models I used my patented Deadbolt neck joint which gives the superior strength and sustain of a neck thru body with the convenience of a bolt on neck. The heel is contoured for ease of playability on the upper frets and genuine comfort all around. This guitar has it all, One guitar to do it all… can’t ask for more than that!
