New 16" Plum Pudding Mahogany Archtop

 SOLD

I have been building guitars now for almost 40 years and i take my job very seriously. i know that i am building something that will become someones  greatest treasure. i put my all into each and every guitar i build no matter the price because as a master artisan everything i put out there in the world is a direct reflection on me as a builder. that being said, sometimes even i can be surprised when one particular guitar stands out from all the rest; this is that guitar. its the best sounding 16" archtop i have built to date and between you and me THAT'S saying something. the HIGHS ARE smooth and sweet, the midrange is super fat and the bass is warm and punchy. The sustain is amazing and the harmonic overtones are full and robust. I have not been able to stop playing it since i finished it. i used a beautiful and rare piece of plum pudding mahogany for the back and sides and a 100 year old sitka spruce for the top. i know that most archtops are built with maple and i have pretty much adhered to that thinking but every now and then i like to mix it up a bit and let me tell you if all mahogany archtops sound like this one count me in. i kept the overall design rather simple and clean but jazzed it up a bit with some macassar ebony ACCOUTREMENTS.  both acoustically and plugged in this is one amazing instrument!
