This one-of-a-kind Buscarino Virtuoso 7-String was commissioned by Bill Bay (son of Mel Bay and owner of Mel Bay Publishing).

Bill had two of his father's vintage D'Angelico archtop guitars which needed serious restoration and maintenance. He asked John to do the job. Bill was so impressed with John's work that he came up with the idea to make a special guitar for his son that could be added to the Mel Bay Legacy of Guitars.

Hence the Legacy guitar was born.

Along with the Mel Bay company logo on the headstock, this guitar also features block inlays on the fingerboard inscribed with the names of the heirs of the "Mel Bay Legacy".

Some of the blocks were left blank to leave room for the names of future Bays, creating an instrument that can be passed down for future generations of the family to use and cherish.
