Charles Atkins requested that we build an archtop to complement his collection of Buscarino Guitars. He already had a Buscarino Oval Hole 7-String Cabaret and the Buscarino 20th Anniversay Guitar. Now he wanted a 7-string archtop to round out his collection.
The focus of this instrument was acoustic quality. Charles had a certain sound in mind for this instrument and every decision made went to fulfilling that idea. After much discussion about the tonal quality, the decision was made to build a 17” archtop with a Cedar top and East Indian Rosewood back and sides. An oval hole was chosen to maximize the acoustic quality with a beautiful custom soundhole rosette of Mother of Pearl and Snakewood to complement the aesthetic beauty of the instrument.
To make the instrument stand out, Charles chose Coco Bola for the fingerboard, tailpiece, bridge and binding. A custom proprietary pickup system was made to enhance the acoustic reproduction of the instrument and keep the electronics to a minimum.
The result in an outstanding acoustic 7-string archtop that sounds as good as it looks. |
